There has been some discussion going on regarding the DQ rules and I want to clarify a couple of things. We utilize the SKUSA, Rotax, and IKF rulebooks for the technical specifications for the various classes that we offer. The rules for scoring DQ’s in these 3 books are not in agreement and do not necessarily reflect the needs and goals of LAKC. We do not want to punish people for making honest mistakes or for mechanical failures that are not performance related. On the other hand, if someone is blatantly cheating to enhance their performance, there will be consequences. That is why we have two kinds of DQ’s with one scoring last place points and the other scoring zero points that cannot be dropped.
