 P1 Engines Win!
P1 ENGINES PERFORMS WELL AT IKF REGION 7
January 4, 2010 – After crossing across the globe for much of the 2009 racing season, P1 Engines stayed local for the start of 2010 as they attended the opening round of the International Karting Federation program. With the event taking place at Buttonwillow Raceway, P1 Engines owner Jesus Vasquez was there to support customers and engine rentals in their quest for victory.
Leading the way was P1 Engines new customer David Vasquez. With no relation to the owner, Vasquez was on fire all weekend claiming three main event victories. The P1 driver claimed the PRD II Junior finals on both Saturday and Sunday while he claimed the Komet Piston Port (KPP) 2 final on Sunday after a broken chain took him out of contention for the win on Saturday.
Senior pilot Kolby Araki competed in two divisions and claimed one win at the Buttonwillow track. Araki won the KPP 4 class in Sunday’s action in dominating fashion. Looking for the perfect weekend, Araki was removed from the results in Saturday’s PRD Senior division as his airbox fell off during on track action.
Canadian driver Parker Thompson would compete in two separate classes on both Saturday and Sunday. Looking to start the season off right, Thompson and P1 Engines claimed a fourth place results in both KPP 1 and Rookie Sportsman in Saturday’s action. Sunday would provide a podium result for the young talent as a fourth place result in Comer was followed by a third place finish on day two.
“The P1 Engine program is going very well and the results are speaking for themselves,â€
