
LAKC Race Report August 29, 2010
The Los Angeles Kart Club held race #7 of their series in conjunction with the Gatorz Karting Cup. Together the shootout made for great racing and a spike in entries for everyone evolved. The combining of Southern California's two Rotax series produced large fields (160 entries) and rave reviews from drivers in both organizations. Rotax classes were run as part of the LAKC’s schedule of events, the Rotax racers benefitted from additional track time in the form of two eight-lap heat races and a twenty-lap final.
Spread over two days, the race included a fifteen-minute hot pit qualifying session on Saturday afternoon before a catered dinner by Blue Agave was provided for all of the LAKC racers. Sunday would kick off with morning warmup and the first of two heat races. The rest of the LAKC classes maintained their normal race program, but I suspect after the success of last months pea pick format we might see that again some time soon. The CalSpeed Karting Circuit was run in the clockwise direction, utilizing the “Grandeâ€
