Opening Day at the Los Angeles Karting Championship is just 3 weeks away and the excitement is brewing with all the instant cash prizes being offered this year. At the top of the list is the PRD Pro Race sponsored by Mack Motorsports. Lloyd Mack, a leading figure in promoting the PRD engine package, is posting a $1,000 cash winner-take-all prize for the PRD Senior class at LAKC’s February 12th opening day. It is reported that we have teams from as far away as the Midwest and the east coast coming out to run along with an incredible list of west coast drivers including quite a few national champions. This is a race you do not want to miss and membership is not required to win the $1000. If you cannot put together an entry, come on out and watch what promises to be an epic battle – spectator wristbands at LAKC are still only $8.00.
As many of you already know, the Championship is also offering instant cash to a number of our WKA and SKUSA derived classes in 2012 for our members. For opening day, PRD-1, Spec Honda (S-2), and Rotax Senior have been selected to receive the cash prizes for 1st thru 5th places. The prize money will rotate each month with 3 of our 12 qualifying classes being selected to get the cash. Please note that you must be a member to qualify for these cash prizes. LAKC will not be offering punches for the Rotax nationals during 2012 however, for our national Rotax members that raced with us in August, September, and October of last year, you already have 3 of the 4 punches that you need for this year’s nationals. All you will need is one more punch so do not let that stop you from joining and running for the cash with the fast guys at LAKC in 2012.
