Just an introduction and open invitation help us on our future in Karting.

Hopefully I will be starting my son Owen in the Kids Kart this 2012 season. Assuming of course the Kart & required equipment fall into place in time.

Owen is 5 and has taken a few classes at Adams Kart, upon finding a Kart shop near us [2Wild Karting] the LAKC was recommended to us.

As for my self, I race Rally cars in a 'Performance Stock Class' which means I run a stock AWD Turbo 2.0l Subaru WRX when I haven't stuffed it. I have no background in racing other than my exploits in Rally for the last 8 years.

We have a Kart on the way, Helmet & shoes, and still undecided on the racing suit...

Wondering if anyone with experience in Kids Kart cares to share the 'extras' I may not be thinking of in terms of equipment or preparation? Keeping in mind this is Kids Kart & I'm not sitting on a fortune...

Come out to the track as soon as you have the kart. You will undoubtedly meet folks with kid karts and/or junior karts and see first hand how little or how extravagant the 'extras' may be.

Someone else with a kid kart might provide additional suggestions.

If you plan to race LAKC, you will want to become a member and enter for our Feb race. See late breaking news post by JBradley.

I would also suggest to come out and watch a race before you have your kart. Get an idea of what you will need, and how the race flows.
