 PRD Easy Start Legal?
Not sure if this is the place to ask this but. Will the new "Easy Start" system for the PRD be legal to use in your PRD Spec Masters class. Per the rules posted the clutch cover is not the fully enclosed metal type, it is plastic and now has the coil attached. Also the timing is measured differently due to a new ignition plate and rotor. Please let me know if I will be able to run it with your club legally.
Thank You.

Are you sure about that Dan?
That seems pretty restrictive for our club/championship races...

 Re: PRD Easy Start Legal?
Geno,
Sorry Geno that kind of seals it for me. Giving away 15 pounds and I can't run my motor with the Easystart. Maybe if I can lose a few more pounds, already lost 35, and they allow the new ignition I will come out and play with you guys. According to the importer WKA has approved it and IKF was 99% there a few weeks ago, but I guess not 100% yet. Ran it a couple of weeks ago and I am very happy with it. No performance advantage or disadvantage, according to lap times, or how it felt (old school seat of the pants).

 Re: PRD Easy Start Legal?
The definite answer here: The PRD Easy Start system, which is now standard on all new engines, will be legal at all LAKC events starting with our February 12th opening day event

 Re: PRD Easy Start Legal?
Thanks Greg and Chris, that sounds a lot more reasonable. OK Bret, be sure to pre-register for the first race, PRD Grand Masters... see you there!

 Re: PRD Easy Start Legal?
Geno,
There is still that 15 lbs problem. I am slow enough as it is, just learning again after such a long time away and not as brave as I was at 20. Now you want me to run like I have an anchor tied to the back of my kart. I will think about it. I will make it out some time this year, but prob not Feb.
Thanks Greg and Chris for the responce, nice to hear it will be legal with LAKC. Hope to see you sometime this season.

 Re: PRD Easy Start Legal?
OK Bret, hope to see you some time, thanks for stopping by! BTW: We ran mixed in with the Seniors last year, every race Seniors and Senior Pilots and always we were mixing it up with some of the seniors in every race and they were 30lbs lighter than us and as much as 42 years younger than some of us! So, sorry, the 15lbs is not going to work as the reason. Show up if you like, if you want to have fun, enjoy the speed and run in a pretty decent sized field.
