 RIP John Estopellan
John Estopellan, an icon in southern California racing, has passed away. John has been our Track Manager at LAKC for a number of years and, for those that did not know him, was the gentleman in a LAKC shirt in the black golf cart. John’s love of racing started 58 years ago as a 12 year-old kid taking photos at local dirt track races. From there, he started working as a race official and worked his way up to positions like Pit Steward, Race Director, and Chief Steward for a number of organizations including USAC and the CRA. John will be missed by all that know him both as a person and professional.
He is survived by his 3 sons, Mike, David, and Richard as well as 12 grand and great grand kids. Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 19th at Guerra & Gutierrez at 6338 Greenleaf Avenue in Whittier. It is requested that you wear race attire.
