Any idea when the board is going to decide what tire the adult PRD classes will be running? A lot of shops are running specials and now would be a good time to stock up for the year.

Working out our 2013 tire specs is a top prliority. We are having ongoing discussions with a number of manufacturers and we should have information posted before too long.

So are chances pretty good we'll be using the same tire (YLCs) as last year? Or is this something that usually changes from year to year?

Kudos to the LAKC volunteers for taking on even more work to strike a deal that benefits us members, even if that means change is coming. Time to lead, not follow.

Matt - we'll figure out the new tire, no problem! I love the Bridgestone tire, but 'what have you done for me lately'.

We will post the spec tire for 2013 just as soon as we can. It's hard to get anything done during the holidays so please stand by.

I see that the final tire specs have been posted this afternoon (FWIW, I generally like the outcome), and I have a quick question.

For the few classes that will use Bridgestone YKC (PRD Sr. Pilot, Rotax Sr. Pilot, etc), will there be a discount tire purchasing program through the club as there was last year?

and....are the 2013 classes still tentative?

PRD Junior 1 is still running? Interesting.

We will be annoucing all of the tires deals as soon as they are finalized. We are working hard to keep the costs down for our Pilot classes.

What has been finalized is that we are running Bridgestone tires for all of our IKF classes and MG White tires for the S-2, S-4, TaG and Magnum classes. The TaG Cadet class will be run on MG Reds that must be stamped "LAKC".

please no more deals. I can't keep track of all the lakc deals. this is a serious problem.

Wondering about these stamped lakc red mg tires. Do they have to be purchased from the club or are skusa stamped tires going to be legal also?

Good point Chuck - thanks for bringing this up. Tires purchased thru SKUSA with the official PKC stamp will be just fine. MG Reds without the PKC or LAKC stamp are not allowed.

My apologies for using the term "YKC tire deal" in my post yesterday. My inquiry was sincere, and was based on the earlier posting indicating that more news was coming. I guess I should have asked whether there will be a similar purchase program though LAKC for these tires, as there was last year.

Yesterday's post was motivated by the slightly more than three-week time span left until the first event.
