Hi,

I'm looking to getting into go karting (TAG). I'm trying to prepare for it.

I've been wanting a 4Runner (2003~2009), which with the 2nd row folded down, my cargo area is:
Hatch Opening Width: 50"
Wheel Well Width: 41"
Cargo Length: 63"

My question is, will a TAG fit in the rear cargo area of a 4Runner? Also, how much disassembly if any is needed to fit?

I have a Dodge Ram 1500 truck, but in the past (and also recently actually) I have put a tag kart in the back of a Nissan Xterra. I had to take the side pods and rear tires off but it did all squeeze in.

Tin, save yourself A BUNCH of trouble and go invest in a small trailer. Even an open trailer is going to make it easier on you than trying to "CRAM' a kart and all your supplies into a small SUV. First off you will have to remove the side pods, rear wheels, possibly the front wheels and nose piece each time you transport. Then make room for your kart stand,awning, food, tools etc. If you look around I'm sure you can locate a small open trailer relativley inexpensive.
and BTW: I have a 2008 Tag chassis for sale w/ all the exrtas.

Joe, I really want a small trailer for everything. The issue is I don't have space for a trailer. I want to avoid paying trailer storage fees, $100 per month? Another trailer option is getting a folding harbor freight trailer and craming it in my 1 car garage with my other car and kart; tight fit.

Trailers I want to avoid, but will keep as an option. If the 4Runner won't do, I might just get a truck instead.

I have seen some karts being transported on a hitch mounted platform leaving the back of the SUV for the rest of your goodies. 2003 to 2005 Chevy Astro van is your best bet. I had one and it was fantastic. Had safe storage and held everything. If you have to buy something get the Astro.
